On Monday 6th November there was a very heavy rainstorm in Positano. Trees, rocks and debris were swept down from the fire ravaged mountains!
The Positano river became blocked with all the debris, causing it to dam up.The water then found other ways to get down to the sea, tearing its way through a fishermans storage deposit and out into the piazza in front.
To make the situation even worse in Positano was the mud that flooded streets and shops, devastating the beach of Marina Grande.
Earth moving machinery could only arrive via sea to free the valley flooded by debris after the flooding of the Rivo dei Mulini torrent.
