From the port of Bari or Brindisi you will get to the city that is able to fill the memory of your camera. Yet few know the fascinating city of Apulia since most of them take the road to the most famous cities of the Italian north.

ts characteristic is the 1500 trulli houses dating back to the 15th century, while the entire city has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The white houses are made with a technique dating back to the Neolithic era, from local limestone without any cement or mortar. The conical roofs were made of large stones, placed in circular rings so that each level supports its upper ending at the top of the cone.

The tops of the domes often have ornate shape, sometimes spherical, sometimes pyramid, with a cross or some other designs. The story of these houses begins in the mid-15th century when poor farmers, in order to avoid the high taxation imposed by the Naples kingdom on the houses, made these rough lodges as huts.
